Just How Many Caseys Are There?

I get up at my normal time this morning and check my inbox. In it I find, well, let’s back up just a little bit.
Last week I made a post at Bigger Pockets about my willingness to mentor, at no charge and without taking any part of their deals. All they had to do was [...] Read more »

You Gotta Wonder Some Times

So, Casey Serin is blogging again. I’m not sure what is funnier, his posts and videos that stir up the haterz or how readily the haterz eat the bait and respond.
I’m sure there are some really good psych research papers on all sides of this continuing train wreck.
Oh, btw, Casey is still not in jail [...] Read more »

The CaseyHaterz Just Don’t Get It - Casey Is Still Not Going to Jail.

The secretive members over at caseyhaterz.com are all a-twitter over the latest investigation by the FBI into mortgage fraud.
They are speculating about whether Casey will finally be arrested and as they are so fond of saying, “do the perp walk”.
Yes, they are investigating fourteen companies over the fraud in the sub-prime meltdown. But, they are [...] Read more »

Just Catching Up - and - Casey Serin is STILL NOT in Jail.

I haven’t had much interest in the Casey Serin saga over the last few months but today I logged on to the CaseyHaterz site and caught up on the soap opera.
No, I’m not talking about the Casey soap opera, that ended long ago. I’m talking about the CaseyHaterz soap opera.
It’s like watching what I imagine [...] Read more »

This is a GREAT Time to be an Investor…

and an awful time to be a speculator.
Do you know the difference? More importantly, do you know which one you are? Hint: It is all in the risk levels and how they are managed.
And yes, I still believe the recession has started.
The reason investors are loving the current turmoil in all of the equity markets [...] Read more »

Casey Serin Still Has not Been Prosecuted

A few months ago I went out on a limb and stated my opinion that the chances of Casey Serin being prosecuted for mortgage fraud was about ZERO. The comments were interesting, often in their ignorance of realities of the legal system. But, here we are a few months later and still no charges against [...] Read more »

In a Way the Post Casey Serin Story is Much More Interesting

Beyond the obvious point of him having messed up royally and being a really good example of how not to be an investor, Casey Serin and the personal drama surrounding him just wasn’t all that interesting to me. Sure, he is probably a great psychological case study but at the end of the day he [...] Read more »

Unfortunately, This is the Legacy Casey Really Leaves as He Exits the Stage…

Casey Serin provides ample psychological investigative fodder on so many levels. There is no doubt he has raw intelligence but he is unfocused and undisciplined. He has a high school education from a California government school and considering the state of government education in this country he was hardly prepared for what awaited him in [...] Read more »

Could It Be That Casey Serin Will Be Charged With Mortgage Fraud? Will I Be Posting An “I Was Wrong About That” Post?

Could be. According to ABC news Casey Serin has hired an attorney who expects Federal Charges to be filed against Casey.
According to his attorney, Serin is currently under investigation by the FBI. His attorney, Kevin Mark Wray, told ABC News that “as of yet, no charges have been brought against Mr. Serin. However, based upon [...] Read more »

Now Casey Is Giving Advice? Seriously?

I received an email this morning and the subject line was “Do you think he regrets following the gurus?” Yes, it was about Casey and I usually just delete these now without reading them but I read that one. It was talking about Casey’s latest blog entry.
I haven’t kept up with the Casey saga over [...] Read more »
