The VEEP Stakes

Obama bunts with his selection of Biden.

McCain has hit a stunning homerun with the selection of Palin.

All of a sudden the race became interesting.

The Obama camp can’t attack her lack of governing experience because even though she has been governer of Alaska for less than two years, she still has more governing experience than Obama. He has never governed anything.

McCain can still attack Obama’s lack of experience without any blowback because she is in the second spot and will have time to learn.

What’s more, she does not have a history of resume inflation, documented plagiarism and terminal foot-in-mouth disease that Biden has.

There is so much about this pick I like. I’m still just lukewarm about McCain but it is definitely going to be very intereseting over the next 67 days.

  1. There are few things that I’m sorry Palin doesn’t favor such as:
    1) Pro-choice (not anti nor pro abortion, just pro-choice).
    2) Favors guns (I always worry about children being “accidentally” shot at).
    3) Beauty queen (that still exist?!)

    But……YAY!

I had not planned to vote for president this year because, IMHO, neither McCain or Obama are anywhere near good enough to be our president.

While there’s no vote for Vice President at the ballot, I’m now considering voting, just because of Palin.

The way I see it, considering McCain’s age and health issues, there is a possibility that he may not be well enough to finish the term.

As for Obama, my state senator, he sure hasn’t done anything for us Illinois residents. *roll eyes*

Bottom line: She’s got the smarts, common sense, ethic, etc., etc., etc. In other words, she’s not stuck on herself compared to 95% of other self-absorbed politicians.
