Casey Serin Still Has not Been Prosecuted

A few months ago I went out on a limb and stated my opinion that the chances of Casey Serin being prosecuted for mortgage fraud was about ZERO. The comments were interesting, often in their ignorance of realities of the legal system. But, here we are a few months later and still no charges against Casey.

I didn’t really go out on much of a limb. The reality is there is little to no chance he is going to ever face any charges relating to his mortgage fraud activities. Everyone who desperately wants him prosecuted says things like, “But, he admitted everything in his blog and in interviews!” But, the unfortunate truth is, they don’t understand the rules of evidence and what is and is not admissible.

Alas, they think our justice system is fraught with the same high drama they see on the popular television shows.

But, as I will point out every few months…

Casey Serin has still not been arrested or charged with mortgage fraud.

    Heeeees baaaack….

  2. You must be really stupid. Anyone with even a little intelligence knows everything he wrote in his blog about his crimes is useable. The only reason he has not been arrested is because it would expose higher ups to prosecution.

  3. CaseyHater,

The rules of evidence are very clear. For the prosecution to use what Casey posted on his blog against him they would have to verify every single minute detail.

Just because someone claims to be guilty of murder doesn’t mean they can be convicted and executed without proving they committed the crime.
