In the early 1980’s there was a popular television show called “Hill Street Blues” it was innovative and at the cutting edge for its time. In one episode the scruffy undercover detective was working undercover behind a deli counter. A woman comes up to the counter and asks if the chicken is fresh. The officer answers, yes. She asks to see one grabs it, pulls its legs apart, shoves it up to her face and takes a deep sniff. She throws it on the counter and says that chicken is not fresh! The officer asks her if she would pass that test?

It usually happens when I am reading some comment about presumed guilt and bypassing the rule of law.
