Yesterday, I agreed to open part of the field guide to public access. Since then we have had over 1000 people try to join for public access.
This is not going to work!
There are already performance issues with the current loads so this is just not an option.

I think we have reached a compromise on public access to field guide. We are going to accept non-paying members that will have rights to some articles and some areas of the forum.
The benefits to the paid members will be protected and enhanced.
Fingers crossed.
